What are you doing when you get this error? When and where do you get
this error? More information would be nice. We can't see your computer
or what is happening with it
I got this same message after I installed SP2. and the
only thing I could do is install XP in a different
directory (c:\winxp) or similar, move any important files
to a new folder, then reinstall XP to the original
location c:\windows directory. The repair function will
not work from the cd as it will not see an XP
installation in the original location because of the
missing or corrupt system files. I just fixed the same
problem on my parents pc last night. I hope some has a
better solution as it is very time consuming to fix.
Did you use a CD with SP2 slipstreamed into it when you did this?
Just curious
