Considering how often the normal.dot becomes corrupt, MS should post the
template on the website so you can simply copy or download it to replace
one's current corrupted normal.dot.

To replace it, all you have to do is rename it, with Word closed. Word will
recreate it. I haven't had a problem with normal.dot corrupting in three
years or more, but I:

(1) make regular backups
(2) keep most of my customizations elsewhere

See http://addbalance.com/word/movetotemplate.htm for step-by-step
instructions on moving / sharing / copying / backing-up customizations
including AutoText, AutoCorrect, keyboard assignments, toolbars, macros,
etc.
