Does anyone know where the file would be to correct the spelling of my name
in System Properties on the General Tab?
It's not important but rather annoying. If possible I'd like to make the
correction. I've looked through the W\System32 folder but unable to identify
it.
Thx

It's kept in the registry:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\RegisteredOwner

You can easily find this for yourself: Simply search
the registry for the misspelt name.

Redundant reply .. I've already given him a fuller set of information in my
reply with the link to the KB article on Microsoft's website, which you
failed to provide. MVP? .. Hmmpf.

Please don't plagiarize my posted replies. The link was *my* idea Glen
whoever-you-are. Think for yourself next time, if you don't mind.

Please check the time stamps of our respective replies.
My reply precedes yours by two minutes, hence I could
not possibly have been aware of your response, otherwise
I would not have replied at all. Note also that responses
can take several minutes to be registered by the news
server, hence two posts may be spaced by five minutes
without the second respondent having seen the first
reply. It happens all the time.

Now what exactly was your comment about MVPs?

Again Glen posted his reply before yours, hence one might
ask who copied whose reply. Have a look at the time stamps!

I think you misunderstand how Usenet works. People who post in these
groups live all over the world in different time zones. Usenet posts
are propagated to many different NNTP servers all over the world. You
will see your posts quickly because they are posted on "your" server. I
might not see your post - and answer a question - even though you
actually posted before I did. It is common to see many similar answers
to a question.

This is normal behavior. Glen did not copy your post word-for-word, so
he did not plagiarize your post. Here are some links to help you
understand Usenet:

You've got an in at Microsoft so probably payed someone to change the time
stamps on the microsoft newsgroup servers to make your posts look original
and not plagiarzed. But, heh heh, I've already got the Copyright (c) so you
are out of luck pal. Go cry to Bill Gates there's nothing even he can do.

Now about your Mommy's Very Precious award .. if you had actually earned it
you would have linked to the Microsoft KB article so the OP could read the
full deal rather than your taking credit for it.

Sad, Pegasus, very sad. I hope you can find it within yourself to come up
with better.

They are out to get me, Mr. Malke, I just know it. You can't see that
because you are blinded by your Mommy's Very Precious (MVP) award from
Microsoft.

Hmm ..

As a matter of fact you are probably in cohoots with them too, albeit
unwittingly. They've suckered you into playing a part. Coming across all
reasonable like with a "legitmate" explanation of the situation, making it
seem "situation normal". Well it isn't! The wool's not pulled over my eyes -
I wasn't born yesterday!

Sorry to inform you that the monthly meeting
of Paranoids United has been cancelled following
reliable reports that Microsoft is on the verge of
overthrowing the US government, assisted by its
army of secretly trained MVPs.

Geez I posted a query on another Board a couple days ago and it didn't garner
one reply. This one only took 2 hrs to start a Mini War.

Thx to BOTH of you for your excellent advice.

When I replied to the original question there were no replies at all. A
simple query like the op asked doesn't need loads of info. I wouldn't have
replied at all if the question had been answered. As Pegasus pointed out the
timestamps show when the posts were sent. The timestamp is 12:45 for both
mine and Pegasus replies and ours are the first replies. So both of ours are
original, uncopied work. Infosinks reply is timestamped 12:49 and he copied
the link I posted.

No way! You copied me! But I forgive you because I'm pretty sure Malke (MVP)
goaded you on. It is well known that the Mommiest Very Precious (MVP) guys
have an "in" with Microsoft. There they adjust the MVP posts timestamps
ahead. Also, upon request they will push ahead a non-MVP's post's timestamp
ahead if necessary to support the illusions they create. Your actual time
stamp was probably about 12:50 well after mine and in plenty of time for you
to copy my link. Nice try, Glen, but it doesn't wash when one looks at the
facts.

That's what happens when people like infostink copy (proven by the
timestamp) quality posts and claim them as their own.

I think I've adequately accounted for the timestamp issue.
