Suddenly, I recevied the dreaded 'file missing or corrupt:
\windows\system32\config\system'.

I have the system up with a much earlier version of the file but the
files size of the old (broken) file is about 7MB while the restored one
is only about 2MB.

Are there any tools available to examine the old system file to see
what was corrupt about it?

Is there a tool that will allow me to move the valid entries from the
old file to the restored file?

Thanks!

Hi,

No, there really isn't anything that will help you recover information from
the corrupted ones. The problem is that you have no way of knowing where the
corruption lies.
