During 2003 I evolved a workbook in Excel 2000 for church accounts which has
worked well.

I'd like to use the same layout for 2004 but am having difficulty copying
sheets from the original book to the new book without them appearing to be
linked. Can anyone please tell me how to set up a new workbook using the
same headings and formula as a stand alone book?

Thanks in advance.

Regards, Jim Farley

Jim,

Why not just delete all of the values input for 2003, and save it under a
new name. Links should be okay then.

Right-click on a sheet tab and "Move or Copy".

Checkmark the "create a copy" box.

In "To Book" select New Book and OK.

You now have a non-linked copy of that sheet in your new book.

Save that book with a meaningful name. Make a second copy of this book before
mucking about with it, just in case.

Now CRTL + A on the sheet and Edit>Go To>Special>Constants.

Uncheck what you don't want selected(probably Text).

With cells selected Right-click and "Clear Contents".

This will clear out numbers and leave Text and Formulas.
