I bought a second-hand ThinkPad with XP on it. When I try
to copy WinWord files to a CD, I get an error message
telling me that the CD-ROM drive is read-only. Can this be
changed so I can move files to a CD? I know the CD is not
read-only, for I formatted it myself. If this can be done,
how do I do it?

Help, please! Please feel free to email me. Thanks.

Is the CD drive a CD-R or RW. You would be better off use a after market
burning program like Nero or EZ CD creator. And did you format the CD-R on
that PC. The last time I checked you don't have to format CD-R unless you
are trying to drag and drop to the CD drive. I don't use D&D, I've never
gotten it to work right.

The problem is one you created for yourself. DO NOT format the CD,
just copy the files to a blank CDR and it will work. No E-Mail
support, post here, come back to read replies.
