How can I copy music from old LP disks into my HD? My LP player has RCA connectors for line out, I connect them into the Line In in my computer sound card, but nothing happens. How can I force the recognition of that source?

You will need to use a program like Goldwave that can record the content
coming from the Line-In jack. Also make sure you have the Line-In volume
turned up.

Use the freeware MusicMatch Jukebox as per these instructions:
http://www.pcworld.com/howto/article/0,aid,17663,00.asp Here's another
article which discusses copying from audio cassette with MusicMatch, but
much of the info applies to copying from LP:
http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/news/1316/

For alternatives to MusicMatch, most of them freeware, along with a wealth
of helpful information, have a look at this site, courtesy of alt.music.mp3
regular dadiOH: http://www.shareup.com/dadioh/

Hope that helps,
Ian.
