I recently created a new profile for an Exchange server account but I
need to copy the e-mails from my old profile to the new one. As I
cannot keep both profiles open I cannot drag and drop or use the copy
command.

Any help appreciated

If they are both connecting to Exchange then go in to Active Directory Users
and Computers (assuming Exchange 2000/3) and give the new profile user full
access to the original profile user), you will now need to add the original
profile to the new profile in Outlook but you need to post your Outlook
version.

Thanks for your reply, but the old profile is local and the other is
Exchange. Some of the messages in the local profile are confidential so
I want to copy only one folder each from my sent/received messages to
the Exchange profile.

I appreciate your help

Then the old profile was using a pst that is a hidden file stored in that
users windows profile, you can try using the File || Open || command and
browse to it. If this is a different profile from yours you may have to log
on as an Administrator to change the file Permission on it first. Also you
cannot open just part of the pst file - its a "all or nothing" but once
opened you can use drag and drop either an individual item or folder.

Thanks, but the solution was rather more prosaic.

Either:

1) Highlight all the relevant e-mail messages and paste as attachments
to an e-mail from one account to the other or
2) If the above task is too big, highlight and paste into a folder then
ndrag those messaegs into the new in/sent boxes
