When I attempt to copy images from Word documents into PowerPoint, sometimes
it works but most often it doesn't. What usually occurs is that a box with a
red 'X' gets pasted instead or other times an image with my company logo. I
know that the image has copied correctly by observing the Clipboard contents
but it doesn't paste what it should. Any ideas? I am using OfficeXP.

Mike,
instead of using copy and paste, you will find that you get much better
results by saving the graphic to your hard drive and then using Insert-->
Picture--> From file to add the picture to your presentation.

For more on the dreaded red x, see this entry from Steve Rindsberg's PPT
