I am trying to copy photo's or burn CD's on my CD-RW but
I am getting a message saying the CD I am copying to
is 'not a writable CD or is full' I know this isn't the
case. I am able to copy files to the temporary drive but
I can't write them to CD. Am using windows XP. I can play
CD-ROM's and audio CD's on drive. Can anybody help. Is it
something simple I'm not doing?

Even though the disk is not full, it may be closed. That will happen if
you burned an AUDIO file to the disk, with XP's built-in burner. It's
wise to plan an almost full disk of audio files, because no files can be
added in a subsequent session. Other burner software may operate differently.

That's not the case with DATA files, but burning them piecemeal is not the
most efficient usage of disk space. For a primer on the capabilities and
limitations of the XP burner see http://www.aumha.org/a/xpcd.htm
