What steps do you have to take to get a copy
of all your emails automatically sent to another
email address? I work both out of my home and an
office and when emails are sent to my email \
address, I would like one to go to my home email
with a copy still in my work email address.

You need your senders to put your work email (or vice versa) in the CC
field.

You need to use an ISP that provides a forwarding service for e-mail (and
also has the option to leave a copy in your e-mail account there). The
server-side solution ensures that you actually get your forwarded e-mails at
home.

A client-side solution would be to define a rule that forwarded all incoming
e-mails to your home. But that requires: (1) Your work computer always be
powered on; (2) Your work computer is always connected to whatever mail
server that you are retrieving your e-mails; (3) That you always leave your
e-mail client so it can execute its rules. Basically you're trying to use
your e-mail client as a cheap but unreliable e-mail server, and all the
forwarded e-mails you receive at home will have "Fwd:" in the Subject field
(whereas with server-side forwarding w/copy the e-mails you receive at home
will be just like those you receive at work).

As mentioned, server-side rules would be best, whether it's an option you
select in your account with your ISP or something you can configure in
Exchange, if you have it. Since the originator didn't mention Exchange, I
didn't assume it. We'll have to wait for Janie's return for more info on
what is his/her work e-mail environment.

Not true if you use an exchange (Server side) rule.
