Copying DVD to computer

Hi,

So i just recently got a video ipod.. and I now wish to transfer some
of my dvd's to my ipod so I can occassionally watch them on my ipod on
my commutes. Can someone point me to an easy guide by which I can
achieve this? I tried searching for it on google, but came across some
pretty complicated things. Finaly after a few hours, I give up and wm
wondering if someone can help me?

Thanks Rpdude. The tutorial was extremely helpful. Just one
question.. when I used to download movies from Kazaa I would download a
~700mb DIVX videos. When I tried to use the guide, it required abt
7gigs to copy my dvd to my computer.. Any ideas on how I can burn my
dvd to my computer and it wouldn't require me to clean up my hard
drive? I have about 2 gigs free space, and I dont require the DVD
extras.. the just main movie.
