Hopefully this is the correct newsgroup - This is my first day at this and I
mistakenly got into the Access Office general questions newsgoup.

Does anyone know of a way to "transfer or copy" all the icons on the computer
desktop that you have created to another machine? My company is changing my
computer again and I don't want to have to individuall recreate my desktop
icons. This problem is in regards to Windows 2000 software - they are
upgrading me to Windows XP.

Thank you,

Desktop icons are simply a link to an underlying document or program,
similar to the "floor 10" button in an elevator

You could pry the "floor 10" button out of the elevator and glue it
to a wall, but pushing that button would do nothing without the
elevator it used to control

Your current icons are each linked to "something" on your current
computer, so you will need to recreate your desktop
