understand that the files on my hard drive, but No
location is given. I would like to store the music in
favorites and cannot seem to accomplish that as well. i
have read the materials over and over but the Record

The CD recording functions built in to XP are very limited. You would be
better advised to use a proper CD recording application such as Roxio EZCD
or Nero Burning ROM.

As for the failed disc, that's now a coaster (unless it was a CD-R/W) so you
may as well use it as such! ;)

What program are you using to copy to CD? Quite often a write speed is
selected that is too high. The computer is not able to feed data as fast as
you have selected to write. Slowing down the write speed often corrects
this buffer underrun problem.
