Is it possible to copy an audio CD to my hard drive (or to an external CD-R
drive)in it's native uncompressed format? I am using WinXp Pro and WMP 9.0.
I want to be able to then burn back-up copies of my favorite CDs to use in
the car where I may not be as careful with the discs. Thanks for any help

Download CDEx from the web, its free, then Rip your CD's to your hard disk
in wave format, then burn them with WMP9 if you must. Nero is better but it
costs.

Cheers,

Can't go wrong with cdex. It performs flawlessly ripping
cd's to either mp3 or wav, also does mp3 to mp3 (lower
bitrate). Been using if for a couple of years & its
totally free, not shareware. You can get it at cnet
downloads.
