copy record to new record error.

Hello all, i have added a button to a form and used the button wizard to add
the duplicate record command.
When i click the button i get the following error " the command or action
'recordsgotonew' isnt available now.
any ideas why this is happening? II strted my database in Access 2003 but
have recently upgraded to 2007. Could this be the cause? I also get a message
when i close the form sayingg i have copied a large amount of data to the
clipboard.

I simply want to click a button, the record will be copied to a new record
and the form will goto the new record for editing it.

as usual any help appreciated.

Just a thought - does the form open the table as a read-only, edit, or
add mode? Perhaps it is just a case of changing this setting?

hi Telek, the form should open in edit mode. I am going to try the duplicate
function on a machine running 2003.
Do you know of another way to copy a record?
