I know that I can use the transfer wizard, but what will happen if I just
copy the profile from one computer to the other. Is there a reason not to
do this, or a reason why the files and setting transfer wizard is
preferred/better?

Personally, I recommend using the Files and Settings
Transfer Wizard. If you were to just copy a profile,
it may not carry over email account messages or settings.

He won't be the owner of the contents if you do it this way. If his
account had admin rights, this won't matter, but if he is a limited user
then he won't be able to write to these files/folders.
