Copy & Paste chart into Word

Hi,
I have a chart in Excel that has several drawings (lines) superimposed but
separately.
The whole thing looks the way I want now and I would like to copy and paste
it into a Word doc.
The problem is that it only copies one element (the one selected, for
example the underlying Excel chart) or one of the lines that I drew on it.
How do I copy the whole image composed of the 4 or 5 superimposed elements
in one shot, as a picture for example, and paste into a Word doc?

Try Shift-Edit on the main menu. There is a listing then for cop
picture.

Alf,
I know that one but doesn't work.
It only copies one "object" thus one element only.
I have now "Grouped" the object and am able to copy the whole thing as a
single picture but it i VERY unwieldy as I realized I have more than 10
different objects part of this "chart".
Surely there is a way of grouping the whole thing with one step instead of
Shift+select on EACH object.
Perhaps a macro, I'm not sure.

Hello Sat,

I have tried the same process as yours and I experienced no problem. Perhaps you have selected the element wrongly. For example, you selected the legend, the title or the series and so on, instead of the whole chart. Make sure that you are selecting 'Chart Area' before pressing the copy button. You may select from the drop down menu from the Chart toolbar.

If that doesn't help neither, you can try screenshoting the entire screen and paste it into Word. Then cut the required part using the Picture toolbar.

Tx for your reply.
I have tried and it does work now but i think it is because I "Grouped" the
objects...Shift +select each separately and then use the Draw|Group Objects.
Now they are grouped as one and it looks to "stick".

front of the chart. Selecting the chart will select the drawing object
as part of the chart.

You could copy the drawing object, then select the chart and paste, and
it will be pasted into the chart. Then just reposition it and you're
ready to paste into Word.
