copy/paste arrive as .dat attachments

Example i copy a picture (flowers.bmp) and paste into body of email and click
send. the reciever opens and see's an attachement (flower[windows mitmap
image].dat

how can i remiedy this
 
I have read the other post and tried the html and plain text , but when we do
that it won't let you paste to the body of the message, Also we are sending
from a outlook 2003 to a outlook 2003

Send the image as an attachment rather than paste into the message?
