I want to copy my HD, in case of failure, and have great problems with
Norton Ghost installation. Any recommendations for alternatives ?.

Thanks

I would recommend a free program from Seagate called Discwizard. The
version I use is contained in the downloaded file named:
discwizard2003_en.exe

You should read the help/instructions fully before using, but it can
copy NTFS as well as other OS regardless of the brand of HD you are
using. There is a cautionary note if it does not detect a Seagate HD,
but it still works well.

Of course there are many other software choices. Most will cost you
and be even more user friendly, but such is life.

You did not specify the brand , but most of the drive makers have a free
program on their web site that will make an exect copy of the whole drive.

I recently did this with a free app called HDClone. It wprked beautifully
for me and is much easier to use than Ghost. You can download it at:
