Copy MBR Option w/ Drive Image 7??

There is an option to "Copy MBR" in Drive Image 7.02's Copy Wizard for copying (cloning)
entire hard drives.

The wizard's default is un-checked. Is it really necessary to also copy the Master Boot
Record (MBR) when cloning an entire hard drive? Any plus or minuses to copying the MBR when
doing a straight clone?

It seemed to work okay for me "without" checking this option to "Copy MBR" on my Windows XP
system (when I went to a larger HD).

Just curious because I've never seen this option before with Ghost 2003 and other backup
software .... Thanks.

Thanks for the info and help ... very much appreciated.

There are some dual-boot managers that modify the MBR, so the 'copy MBR' option would be
useful. If you've only got one operating system, I've never seen that needed, but if it's a
situation with running multiple operating systems with either a boot manager from a
non-windows OS or an add-on boot manager, it may be needed at times.
