I forgot to check the copy files in the advanced during setup of XP Pro. Is
there a correct way to copy the installation files to HDD after setup is
complete? I don't want to have to put in the disk every time I need to add
a component. I don't want to have to setup all over again.

Thanks

I created a folder on one of my hard drives to hold the files and folders
from the XP CD and copied them to it.

I then did a registry search for my DVD drive and verified it was the
pointer for the installation files and changed it to the appropriate hard
drive folder I had created.

Doesn't really take that long. Just remember, you can screw up your registry
if you don't know what you're doing.

If you don't feel like editing the registry then just copy the files to the
hard drive and the next time something you do requires the CD just change
the path on the box from the CD to wherever it is you put them.
