I wish to copy my HDD (getting noisy) to a new one. It has all the programs
and data inc. win XP. Can I after installing it in the PC just copy over or
do I need a special program to copy C; to E;

You need a special program to copy. You may already have the program in the
retail hard drive kit or you can download it from the hard drive
manufacturer's web site. It there isn't any program to do this copy, look
at Norton Ghost.
