I'M TRYING TO COPY A FLOPPY ONTO MY COMPUTER. I KNOW TO PUT THE FLOPPY IN AND GO TO THE A:DRIVE IN MY COMPUTER BUT THEN I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. I SIMPLY WANT THE INFORMATION OFF MY FLOPPY TO BE AVAILABLE ON MY COMPUTER WITHOUT HAVING TO INSERT THE DISC EVERYTIME I NEED SOMETHING ON IT. I NEED STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS BECAUSE I'M VERY NEW AT OPERATING MY COMPUTER. THANK YOU.

Click and drag the Icons of your files to your Desktop or your C:\ drive.
When you do this open up another my computer Window and then double click on
your c:\ drive and then click and drag your files over to your c:\ drive or
whereever you wish to put the files.

Thanks

First thing is TURN OFF your caps lock key... All CAPS is annoying.....
Secondly, go onto the internet and do a search for computer basics of "how
to install information from my floppy disk to my computer' or something
similar. I am serious; learn to use your computer to help you with your
computer! That is what a browser is for; Information.. Not just
entertainment..
If you learn how to search and/or read the HELP info that is in your Start
menu you will have a feeling of satisfaction knowing you did it yourself,
and you will teach yourself the 'how' of searching for information...'That
doesn't mean you shouldn't ask questions here.

Most people on here will offer help with anything computer related; it is a
great tool this Newsgroup, and there are knowledgeable people herein.. The
info i gave you is, in my opinion, the best 'help' because 'help' from my
point of view is pointing you in the right direction to help yourself,
rather than solving the problem for you. This makes you dependent... NOT
independent.
For some stuff, you can always come to this Group.
I say this with no malice or sarcasm.. First lesson to a new computer user.

Once you have the floppy opened (you see the files),
simply click on the file you want to copy with your left
mouse button and drag the file (while keeping the button
pressed) out of the folder (onto the desktop or into
another folder) . You can use right mouse button instead
of left for additional options.

Hope it helped

insert floppy
on your 'desktop', click 'my computer', now click '3 1/2 Floppy' (A). When
your file appears, right-click on the file and scroll down and go into 'Send
To' and click on 'My Documents. The file will be saved in your My Documents
folder on your 'desktop'.

3. Click on Windows Basics
4. Click on Core Windows tasks
5. Click on Working with files and folders
6. Look in the right pane.
7. Click on Create a new folder.
8. Click on Copy a file or folder to a floppy.
9. Do the reverse of the above to copy a file or folder to your hard drive.

Help and Support is a great place to learn the basics of computer skills.

We heard you the first time, when you asked 20 minutes ago. I won't
even go into how rude you are by SHOUTING at everybody; I addressed
that in reply to your first post.

Wait for a while before whining about your problem again. Impatience
isn't very well regarded, or rewarded, here.

This Moves the file(s) to the new folder. You need to click
on the files you need copied. Then select "copy files" and
choose where to copy to from the dialog. Then click on copy
at bottom of dialog. I find that easier than drag(ing).

Drags between drives are copies. Drags within the same drive are moves. Dragging files with names setup or install create a shortcut.
