copy and paste

i have my resume in word and saved in my documents. when trying to copy to an online application i high lite files edit choose copy then in the application form the paste choice is not usable.
 
Did you also try right clicking and choosing "Paste" from the menu that
appears in the Online Application?

I'm not surprised. If you're selecting the file itself rather than the text
in the file, then I would not think it would be possible to paste it into a
form.
