copy and paste not working

Several times lately when I try to copy and paste in a Word document, it
doesn't work. The clipboard says "format not supported by Office clipboard".
Never happened before--any suggestions?

It ALWAYS helps to mention the software versions involved in a problem.

Assuming this is a version of Word that has the functionality, try Help/Detect
and Repair.
