copy and paste from Paint

It's seems not to be possible to copy a Paint-selection to an email in
Windows Mail. If I copy it first from Paint to Wordpad I can copy it into
Mail but I get an empty retangular with a red cross in the linker upper edge.
How can I copy form Paint into Mail?

Windows Mail is not good at accepting copying from most programs.
It expects you to put what any other program generates into a file, then
make sure the file is closed in all programs, then attach the file to an
outgoing message.
