cookies

using ie6 and xp with sp2. can anyone tell the most likely reason a website
forum will not store my user name and password.
 
If the site doesn't download a cookie to your PC then that would be the
obvious reason.

Do you mean store the password and user name as a cookie so that you don't
have to sign in?

If so, either the forum doesn't provide cookies of that kind or the cookie
settings in Internet Options => Privacy tab don't allow that kind of cookie.

try to use opera or mozile
get rid of shity internet explorer.
ie is bad
opera8 is good ; you have option to save password

Perhaps you've set your "security" tab too low.,
