I've uncovered a strange case of cookie recalcitrance on
my computer system. There are three cookie files that
refuse to be deleted. For the past week I've been
battling an malware problem. I ran Ad-aware SE on my
system and was able to remove almost all malware except a
single instance of aaa_soft. When I went into my
registry, I found a single aaa_soft folder remained, but
when I tried to delete it, I got an error message(!). It
refused to be deleted and wouldn't open either so that I
could delete the values stored in it. Then, after
rebooting my system, the aaa_soft folder was gone, but I
suspect it regenerated itself under a different name
because I still get a pop-up associated with it: paypopup.
Is there anyone out there who has encountered similar
problems with cookies that refuse to be deleted or
instances of aaa_soft that can't be removed from the
Registry?
