I have a few MPEG files that I was hoping to convert to another format so I could minimize the size for backing up. I know the quality won't be as good but not too bothered as long as I can still see it. Is there any free programs I can download to convert them and what would be the best format. Thanks for any help you can offer

Try Windows Movie Maker 2 in Windows XP

Once you get the hang of it is an AWESOME little program...

Can't find the damn thing. Any other suggestions. Also how easy is it to convert and what is the best format to convert to for reducing the size of files

when u say mpeg i am presuming you mean mpeg2? or is it just mpeg?

i thought that avi was the best quality for reducing the size of the files aswell

try going to download.com and typing in mpeg converter / video converter and im sure you will get some free programmes that will allow you to convert from mpeg.

good luck pal
