Converting tables from Access97 to Access2K

I'm in the process of converting a client from Access97 to Access2K. They
have 4 Pc's currently running A97, and I've split the data (tables) and
applications into separate MDB files. I have already tested converting the
A97 applications to A2K with no troubles. The A2K apps run fine with the
data remaining in A97 format.

Converting the tables to A2K format renders them useless to A97. Since I
want to phase in the A2K conversions shoudl I expect any problems running it
with the data remaining in A97 format? And when I'm done converting all the
apps to A2K is there any real reason or benefit to convert the tables to A2K
format? (They have several sets of old data, all in A97 format.)

There is no problem leaving the data in A97 format indefinitely. I do not know
if there is anything to be gained by converting it once all front ends are in
A2000.
