Converting scores i.e. 1-0 to win, draw or loss

I am currently writing a spreadsheet to record the results of the coming premiership season and converting them into a league table. Yes I know I can download this but where is the fun in that!

The problem I have at the moment is I am recording the results in text format as 1-0, 1-1 etc in a single cell - what function/formula can I use to convert this into number of wins, draws etc against a team?
