Converting Mac Works 4.0b database to Microsoft Access

I am trying to convert a database from Mac Works 4.0b to Microsoft Access.
Attempts have been unsuccessful. I am unable to save the database in Works
as a dBase III or IV file as described in another question. Any ideas on how
to get this done?
 
Another possibility is to see whether you can open it in Excel.

If you can, it should be easy to get it from Excel to Access.
