I am using outlook 2003 on my home CP and outlook XP 2002 at work.
I want to copy (install) the Personal Folder from outlook 2003 into outlook
XP 2002
Can this be done? If so how?

Yes but if the Outlook 2003 PST is in Unicode format you might need to
export it to ANSI format first. Then copy it to the new machine, open it and
copy the items over.

You need to create an older style .pst file in Outlook 2003 and copy all
needed data to that .pst file in order to be able to use it in Outlook 2002.

I am dealing with this same issue. So now the question is, how do you create
an older style .pst file or export to an ANSI format as BillR suggests? I
have looked on the help screens and can't find these answers.

File | New | Outlook data file. Choose the Outlook97-2002 format then copy
items to the new PST noting it has reduced capacity (2GB). I think Import
and Export .. export to a PST does ANSI format - need to check.

Once you've created the new (old format) .pst file, there's no need to
export or import it. Just copy it over to the other computer and open it in
Outlook on that computer.

Actually, export from Outlook 2003 creates only a UNICODE file. There is no
option to create ANSI with the export command.
