Convert Object to XML

Is there a quick way to Convert an Object to XML and then pass the XML
string to VB as a paramenter. Then rebuild it on the VB side?
 
Your brief description sounds like an excellent candidate for .NET remoting.
Sorry I don't have any good references to post right now, though...
