Convert Hours to Cash

I would like to convert hours into money using an excel formula (ie 1.00 hour
at £50 per hour)
 
With hours in A1, expressed as hh:mm, in B1 try

=A1*24-50

With B1 formatted as a number or General.

Typo - Try:

=A1*24*50
