When I receive a remote assistance invitation and connect
to the client machine, I am not able to take control as
the buttons at the top of the application are no longer
there. All I have is a white bar across the top where I
would expect to see the navigation buttons.

Is there anyway to re-install RA or fix the problem?
Thanks

Richard

I have your exact same problem, that just came up out of no where

I have used Remote Assistance successfully ever since I've had XP Pro (as an "expert") and now suddenly, for no reason, the buttons have just disappeared, exactly as you described

It will not work with computers that it previously had no problem with, as well as new clients that I have tried it on; it will connect just fine, but only in "view only" mode

I have enabled all features (which hadn't been done before, by the way) in System Admin per the Knowledge Base Articles, but to no avail

I have applied all the Windows Updates available, but other than that nothing else has changed

I use an Efficient Networks DSL Router and Norton Personal Firewall 2004, but I had both in place long before this inexplicable problem appeared

Let's hope some of the whiz-bangs out there will help us out on this one, as I'm shut down in the meantime

As I always say, if I have the problem, then other folks surely do, as well
