I've forgotten how this works. Google led me in strange directions. I
think there's some starting point on the Start menu, or maybe control
panel that allows me to pick the time, and weekday. I hope it allows me
to decide whether I want to reboot after the update, or defer it to the
next time I do reboot. Comments?

Start->Settings->Control Panel->Automatic Updates.

Depending on how you have your menus set up, you might have some other
way to get to the Control Panel.

If you select "Automatic", you get to choose the the day of the week and
time of day.
I hope it allows me to decide whether I want to reboot after the

If you select "Automatic", if an update requires a reboot, it will
reboot when the update is done without asking you. If you're sitting in
front of the PC when the update takes place you ->may be offered the
option of stopping the reboot.

If you need to decide when to reboot, you'll have to choose one of the
other options.

Thanks. I definitely don't want a reboot unless I say so.
