controlling services

I have a windows service that is installed an running.
It is marked as logging in as "Local Service" and
interacting with the desktop.

The vendor has a "controller" for setting properties
on the service. It uses Find_Window to find the
service if it is running.

This works fine on my XP box, and fails on my Windos 2003 Server box.

Vendor says it should work.

Winspector can't see the service either.

Any suggestions of what else to try, or where else to ask?

These tools Find_Window and Winspector are not native to "windows" so best
get in touch with the developer.
