Control which items are synchronized

I have two computers, one personal, one corporate. I have a single corporate
Exchange account. I want to use the exchange account for both the personal
and corporate computers.

When I use the personal computer, I want to be able to connect to the
exchange server to check my email, but I want to prevent any non-email
related items (contacts, notes, calendar entries) created on the personal
computer, from being placed on, or (synchronized) with the exchange server.

I can't find anyway to control which items are synchronized with the
exchange server.

The details depend on your Outlook version, which you neglected to mention.

Hi Sue-

I'm using Outlook 2003.

The ideal solution, if your Exchange server permits it, may be to connect to
the Exchange server as an IMAP client. This will let you see the mail in
your inbox, but the contacts and calendar in your Exchange mailbox will be
unavailable. You'll need to ask your administrator if this is possible.

Then think about using Outlook Web Access. It's technically possible but
extremely tricky to prevent changes made to items in your non-mail Exchange
mailbox folders from syncing back to the server. I'd say your chances of
making it work would be 25 to 1 or worse.
