Control Panel View has Changed

Recently , probably due to some "tweaking " on my part I've got the
C.P. showing , in addition to all the icons , an additional two
strips on the L.H. side of the screen which say respectively :-

"Control Panel" &

"See Also "

The Control Panel strip has a down arrow on its R.H.S which , when
clicked shows a choice of switching to Category View.

The See Also strip also has an arrow which , when clicked , gives a
choice of Windows Update and Help & Support.

I would like to get this back to my previous setting which showed only
the icons and none of these strips mentioned here - how do I do this ,
please ?

I think also that , in addition to these strips , the appearance of
the icons has also changed - they seem bigger ( sorry to be so vague )

Hi victory,

Open Control Panel and go to Tools>Folder Options and select the radio
button beside Use Windows classic folders. Click on Apply then OK. This
should get rid of the sidebar on the L.H.S.

Now, with Control Panel still open, go to View and, one at a time, select
each of Thumbnails, Tiles, Icons, List and Details to see if one of those
views was the one with the smaller icons that you previously had set up.
