Control Panel takes 4 minutes to "populate list."

This just started recently, don't know what happened. What's going on and
how can I correct it? I'm not a big user and do not have lots of files.

1. Open TweakUI *
2. Go to Control Panel Section (click Control Panel at left side)
3. Disable all the items then enable them one by one and check which one is causing
the delay.
4. Disable the bad item..

Hi,
Sorry, that didn't work. I downloaded and installed TweakUI. When i removed
all checkmarks, Control Panel opened but "add or remove progs. . ." wasn't
listed. Add programs would only try to open when "appwiz.cpl" was selected
(by itself)and it still took forever to populate. Other suggestions? Thanks,
