Control panel in windows xp sp2 disappears when I click on different applets.
I notice that I don't have a control.ini file anywhere on the hard drive.
Could this be the problem? If so, have can I restore this file?
 
I have one control.ini file in C:\WINDOWS and it is 0 bytes. So I doubt
that is your problem.

Control Panel is control.exe.

Update your antispyware and antivirus programs and run full system scans.

I have run adaware and spybot: no problems. I ran a full virus scan and have no infections. Any other suggestions?
