In trying to remove a virus (W32.HLLP.Spreda.B (also
called savenow) found on my pc i followed the directions
on norton's website
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32
...hllp.spreda.b.html
Part of those directions told me to temporarily disable
sys restore and then edit the registry . I followed these
directions (u can read them in full at the above link) and
now my computer is in a continuous boot loop. It gets as
far as the black xp loading screen and then reboots
itself. over and over and over without end. HELP!!!!!

before the windows xp scren loads up press the F8 button
every secound and you should get a choice to start in
safe mode.If it cant start up in safe mode you may have
to do a repair install.

the computer does not respond when i press f8. the only
thing i can get into is setup (by pressing f1) Any
suggestions?

1 thing to try: Boot to your XP CD and perform a repair. You will likely
need to reapply service packs and hotfixes (go to Windows update, and keep
your fingers crossed that you don't get hit in-between)...

Luck!
