Something's gone screwy with my XP OS. More often than not, it's been
asking me to activate windows before continuing. This OS was activated via
Internet when installed without problems. Now if I want to boot, I have to
call MS each time to activate. Can anyone tell me what's happened and how
to correct this?

If possible could you also send a reply to my email addy just in case I
can't use the computer and I can check from another computer...thanks again!

Thanks-Dave

Try repairing the registry entries for the .DLL files used by
activation:

Use Start- Run and enter the following text in the dialog box:
regsvr32.exe regwizc.dll

Then do it again with the following text:
regsvr32.exe licdll.dll

Good luck

Thanks to both of you for your suggestions.

I'm not sure which one actually worked or if both of them did. I was
hedging my bets and did them both before rebooting. Seems to work ok this
morning but time will tell.

Sure wish I knew what caused it. I suppose all the system lock-ups and
improper shutdowns, to reboot, trying to figure out why my system locks up
when burning dvd's ... but that's another story altogether.

Thanks again guys,
Dave
