I have a problem with content search. It appears that not
all file extensions will be searched. Referring to
Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 309447 states that extra
filetypes are added to the search engine.

However some applications use other file-extensions.

Is it possible to extend the filetypes to be searched?
Perhaps by modifying the registry?

Go to Control Panel > Folder Options > View

Uncheck "Hide Extensions for Known File Types"

and click "APPLY"

If disk searches are your thing, then you may find this free tool more
useful than XP search...
