Hi Bill,

Did you also lose your existing calendar and emails? If so, it sounds like Outlook is now pointing to a brand new "empty" .PST file. You can perform a search for all existing .PST files on
your machine, and open each file to see if it contains your missing contacts. If you find a lot of .PST files during your search, you can look at the last modified date to get a good idea of
whether each file is current or old.

To find your .PST files, go to the Start menu and choose Find > Files or Folders. In the Named: box, type in *.PST. Make sure you have your hard drive(s) selected in the "Look In" box,
and the Include subfolders box is checked. Click on the "Find Now" button. Write down the location of each file, then open Outlook and look at each .PST file by File > Open > Outlook
Date file.

Hi Scott,

Yes I lost everything, email, calendar, the works. I did a search for pst
files and none to be found. It is the strangest thing I have ever seen. I am
the admin and only user. I also have file types to show hidden files and no
pst files. I am starting from scratch and feeling some pain :-)

I cant even get my email account with my pop3 set up. All the test settings
work except the log in to incoming server. Outlook express works just fine
and I have the same settings in outlook and cant connect.

Really pulling out my hair now LOL

Thanks
Bill

Well I got the email working. Unbelievable as it sounds my ISP now has two
different login procedures for outlook and outlook express...
