Somehow when I send emails Outlook cannot find my contacts. Opening the
listed contacts folder shows it to be empty. Opening the address books pull
down shows I have two contacts folders. The second folder (of course not
the default) contains the missing information.
How do I reduce everything back to one so I can get on with life.

Remove the Outlook Address Book service from your profile, stop and restart
Outlook, and add the service back in. You'll then have a single Contacts
listed in the Address Book.
