Hi.

I have Outlook 2002, Office 2000, Windows 2000
Professional. I keep getting an error when I'm on the
last step where it says to click "finish" to export the
file. I'm trying to export my contacts to Excel. It
doesn't give me an error number or any information
except, "Microsoft Outlook has encountered a problem and
needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I'm
afraid of reinstalling Outlook because I'll lose all my
contact information. Can anybody help me.

I would go ahead and backup your Outlook.pst file to a
tape or CD. This will hold all of your Outlook settings
including Contacts, Email, Etc..... Once that is backed
up go ahead and reinstall Office. I hope this helps.
