when sending an email thru ie7, the contacts don't display when selecting the
"to" box. using vista w/windows mail

I gave up on Vista Mail and went to Vista Live Mail after reading a number
of messages in this forum that Windows Live Mail was better (more features)
than Windows Mail. Yes, the individual account display is excellent.
However, my basic problem has not been addressed. When ever I print an
email, only the header (From, To. Sent and Subject) is printed.
No one has responded to my previous postings--which is disapointing since
such newsgroups are of tremendous value. Here are the basics:

I am running Vista Home Premium on a new computer and I have two printers
hard wired (USB connectors). They are: Epson CX6600 and Epson Styus Photo
2000P (11"x17").
Whenever I print to either, only the header is printed.

What can I do????

I haven't tried it in IE7, but in Windows Mail you can get to the contacts
by clicking on Tools, then Select Recipients instead of doing anything to
the To: line.

There is a separate newsgroup for Windows Live Mail Desktop:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop

I am in ie7 and want to send the link to an email address so I click file,
send, then the form comes up thru win mail. There is no "Recipients" under
tools. I've tried "to" and it asks for typed in names rather than displaying
the contact list.

I doubt that many users print their emails, I sure don't.
However, I just tried a plain text message, and a HTML message, and they
both printed just fine to my HP 6110.
Vista Home Premium, WLM.

I'm not familiar with Epson printers.

Is the problem with email from a certain sender? Perhaps they're using a
certain font/character set/encoding??????
Are these emails downloaded from a POP, IMAP or Hotmail account? (shouldn't
matter, but who knows?)
Are your emails plain text or HTML?
Can you print other documents ok, like from Word or Excel?
Can you print webpages ok? Your problem kind of sounds like when you print
a webpage with frames, and select "Current Frame only".

You may have to start Windows Mail instead of IE7 to get to the
correct place to apply this fix.

When that screen comes up for me, I can click on Tools, Select Recipients,
or I can click on To. Either way the list of contacts comes up.
Not sure why yours doesn't have that feature.
Does it work when you start a compose screen normally ("Create Mail")?

The reason you received few (if any) responses is because that is
an extremely unusual problem. I have no idea what could cause it,
but it probably is not related to the email program since both WM
and WLM gave the same result. The commonality is that both WM
and WLM use the IE print engine. So, you might try resetting IE
(Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, Reset). Save your cookies first
because the reset will delete those.
